Chaffinch Textile Arts for Health And Wellbeing
At Chaffinch textile arts I use textiles as a pathway to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through engagement with fabric and stitch.
My name is Sophia Spink, I am a creative practitioner and community textiles artist based in Wiltshire.

My Workshops
My workshops explore how to be more connected with ourselves, our communities and the natural world around us, through creative collaboration and engaging in textiles art.
I show participants how reflective stitch practices can increase focus, improve self-regulation, help to process emotions to support wellbeing.
Communal stitch projects are a collaborative process that builds connection, self-confidence and encourages teamwork. Focus is on learning and improving skills but also on embracing Imperfection.
I encourage a participant lead practice, so that participants can take ownership of their projects. By sharing skills, telling stories and learning from each other they build confidence, deepen experiences and gain agency.

I am able to deliver workshops to a wide range of groups within the community including public organisations such as schools, charities, as well as private clients.
I have specialised so far with women’s groups and have volunteered for the Harbour Project which is a charity organisation supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Swindon. (please see pictures of the Solidarity skirt project in my gallery.)
Each project is tailored to the needs of each individual group or organisations I am working with and all materials are provided.
As much as possible I like to use recycled fabrics which are more environmentally friendly and cost effective.
Sessions are 2-5 hours and 6 sessions are recommended for each project.
Please contact me to discuss my services and any questions you may have.
